How to start preparing to be a financial adviser?

How to start preparing to be a financial adviser?-I want to start preparing myself to be a good financial adviser. I am currently a finance major 2 years in, and have 5 years banking experience. I want to start working on investments. What can i practice learning now?
Update: I liked the 2nd answer, only i'm not in India. I'm in the U.S.

if you have an inclination towards financial products, this would not be a difficult task.A financial adviser, is a professional who renders financial services to individuals, businesses and governments. This can involve investment advice, which may include pension planning, and/or advice on life insurance and other insurances such as income protection insurance, critical illness insurance etc., and/or advice on loans / liabilities. the ultimate aim is wealth building of your client.

How to start preparing to be a financial adviser?-if you want to be a professional, you can start with doing a CFP (certified financial planner) course offered by Financial Planning Standards Board India (FPSB). http://www.fpsbindia.org/.

that opens the road ahead. most importantly you have to decide for yourself about the particular field you want to grow in. if it is anything specific like insurance, real estate, tax planning so you need to do courses accordingly that give a knowledge as well confidence to deal with your clients. since you have a banking background, it would not be very difficult. try starting small and if there is

any other help needed, feel free to contact me. hope it helps.
