What are the job profile of CFP?-Most CFP holders that I know are having their own firm doing financial planning for clients. They will usually target middle income earners to high net worth clients.
Their job scope is to help client increase their wealth. They will follow a set of process or financial planning methodology to get information, asking relevant questions, designing a plan, sorcing for the right financial products, insurance planning, wealth accumulation, wealth distribution, wealth protection, taxes and estate planning is all part and parcel of their job.
Beside the technical know how, concept selling to their clients about financial planning is also very important. As all financial planners are very good in their technical skill, learning some soft skill will help them to improve their businesses ie building rapport, giving free seminar to promote financial planning and even writing articles about money management.
Be creative in selling your services will be an added advantage. Sales, Marketing and Branding are important.
Some big banks which offer wealth advisory services will also require financial planners in their organization. They are very well paid becasue the bank only allow the best staffs to handle their best clients.
